How to use Windows 10 Mobile’s View 3D app

Last year Microsoft released a Paint 3D for Windows 10 users on PC, tablets and Mobile. The Paint 3D App was an update to the Microsoft’s Classic Paint App with 3D features. Now with the Windows 10 Creators update, Microsoft has improved the support for users who create with 3D on Windows PC. Now with the latest insider Preview Builds the company has now installed the 3D app as a default app in the app list. With the new View 3D app users can use simple controls to see 3MF, PLY, OBJ, FBX, and STL files from all angles.

This app primarily allows you to view 3D models, meaning you can’t use it to create anything new. Despite its limitations, it’s a useful companion app that you can use to show off your creations or examine the creations of others. If you created a model in the Paint 3D app for Windows 10, you can access and view it in the View 3D app. Suppose you save FBX files -3D models created in Paint 3D in OneDrive in order to access them on your phone you need to follow the steps below

As a first step launch the View 3D app from the All apps list.

Tap the Open button in the top-left corner of the screen.

Tap OneDrive and sign in if you aren’t signed in

Next tap a 3D model file.

Now tap the checkmark. Your model will open in the View 3D app.

You can tap and drag with one finger to rotate and turn the model.

Also tap and drag with two fingers to pan.

Next tap and pinch with two fingers to zoom.

You can double-tap with one finger to reset the camera.

Now to  upload a model to Remix 3D community with View 3D you can view on your phone  and can be added to public or private board in the Remix 3D community.

All you need is to launch the View 3D app from the All apps list.

Tap the Remix 3D button near the top of the screen. You will find that Microsoft Edge will launch and you’ll be taken to the Remix 3D website.

Now tap the profile button in the top-right corner of the screen.

Then type your username and tap next

Now log in by typing your password.

Tap the Upload button near the top-right corner of the screen and tap to select file.

Next tap OneDrive or any other option where you saved a 3D model and tap a 3D model file.

Now tap the checkmark and tap to upload and tap filter.

Again tap the checkmark and tap Lighting and drag the slider to adjust the lighting.

Tap the checkmark and tap next

Tap the Name field and type a name and tap the Description field to give a description.

Tap the dropdown arrow in the Made with field and tap an app

Next tap the Tags field.

So type a tag and tap the tag button to add the tag and now tap to Upload.

Finally the  model will now be uploaded to your collection in the Remix 3D community.
