How to share your Windows PC WIFI with other devices?
Whether you are travelling or at home you need to be connected with the world, and that’s possible with a WIFI or internet. You can just connect any of your smartphone, tablet or even PC and get a single WIFI on all your devices. Windows PC facilitates this feature on Windows 10 and all you need is to turn on your Windows Hotspot and share your PC’s internet connection with other devices over Wi-Fi.
At the Windows 10 Anniversary Update version onward, you have this feature built into the operating system. You can even share your Wi-Fi internet to other devices without an Ethernet cable.

- Press the Windows key and A to bring up the Action Centre (or swipe in from the right on a touchscreen)
- Click or tap on the Wi-Fi icon if it’s grey to enable Wi-Fi
- Right-click (or long press) and choose ‘Go to Settings’

- Enter the password and wait for the connection to establish
How to share your connection or WIFI with other devices on Windows 10?
All you need to do is open your Windows 10 settings on your PC and go to Network & Internet > Mobile Hotspot.
The “Share my Internet connection from” box should default to whatever network adapter is currently connected to the internet, though if you’re currently connected over Ethernet and Wi-Fi, you can choose which connection you want to share through this box.
Now choose whether you want to share over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth
Suppose you want to share over Wi-Fi then click the “Edit” button to create a name and password for your new network.
When you’re ready, flip the Mobile Hotspot switch to the on position at the top of the settings, and use your newly created credentials to log in from your phone or other device.
Note that you may experience slower internet while doing this, due to the inefficiencies of Wi-Fi sharing.
How to use WIFI and share with other devices on Windows 7?
If you are still lingering on with your old version of Windows then you can create ad-hock networks that are designed to share your Ethernet connection with other devices over Wi-Fi.
Search for “Manage Wireless Networks” in the Start menu, then click the “Add” button to create a new ad-hoc network.
Also there are many third party apps or programs that are free to use and work well with Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and also Windows 10. Programs like Connectify allow you to share your Ethernet connection over Wi-Fi, but you can share a Wi-Fi connection over Wi-Fi as well. Make sure the Wi-Fi Hotspot button is selected, choose your Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection from the box along the top, then click the Start Hotspot button.
Though such programs are free to use but also have in app purchases where you get a subscription offer for few dollars to get more features.
Connectify will generate the network name and password for you (with paid users given the option to customize it), and you should be able to type those credentials into your phone, tablet, or other device to connect.
How to share WIFI connection on a Mac?
For Mac owners Apple’s macOS has internet which is simple to use. Go to System Preferences > Sharing and click the Internet Sharing option in the sidebar. You can share a connection from Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Thunderbolt, or FireWire to computers using any of those protocols.
Remember that you can’t share via the same protocol from which you’re currently receiving internet. So, you can’t share your Wi-Fi connection over Wi-Fi you’d have to share Ethernet over Wi-Fi, or Wi-Fi over Bluetooth.
- Select the options you want like internet from my Ethernet connection to other devices over Wi-Fi.
- Now click the Wi-Fi Options button to set the name and password of your network.
- Check the box next to Internet Sharing in the sidebar to create your hotspot.
- You are ready to connect your other devices over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth or Thunderbolt and use the WIFI as usual.
